277 || [Recast] How Trusting God Changes the Way You Pursue Your Dream || Krista (Hengesh) Breilh

I am taking a short break in July to rest and recharge (because our dreams require it), so I’m reaching back into the archives to serve you up a recast of some oldie-but-goodie episodes this month. Each week builds upon the others with tangible faith-inspired lessons and encouragement for you to find renewed energy for your dream.

Looking to go deeper in your relationship with God?

Krista (Hengesh) Breilh is the Executive Director and Founder of Live Salted, an intergenerational women’s ministry based in Seattle, Washington. In our conversation, Krista shares her journey of facing uncertainty and questioning her own leadership abilities. I know you’ll appreciate her honesty about the faith necessary to step into a God-shaped dream, especially when you don’t know what the results will be (and who ever does!?)

If you heard last week’s recast episode, you know I lost an interview because I forgot to hit record. (SMH—that’s the worst kind of mistake if you ask me; I wanted to kick myself.) But God had other plans and Krista (Hengesh) Breilh (my guest in that conversation) was a total Rockstar and said yes to re-recording with me.

This is an amazing convo from 2018, and it’s quite possible the second time around was even better than the first! So if you’re new around here, I didn’t want you to miss Krista’s infectious enthusiasm for life, unwavering devotion to God, and her remarkable ability to fuse practical wisdom with scriptural truths. She is such an encouragement to the dreamer in us all!

IF YOU HAVE EVER STRUGGLED with trusting GOD, THIS WAS THE EPISODE FOR YOU.

Krista talks about choosing to step out of the boat and trusting God with your dream, your life, your everything and how your dependence on Him naturally increases as you do that. This also grows your intimacy with Him and changes how you pursue your God-shaped dream. Listen in and be inspired by Krista’s vulnerability, transparency, and unwavering trust in God's provision.

This episode is a reminder that, as daughters of the King, there is no challenge, doubt, or fear that can limit our potential. She motivates us to embrace the journey of faith, take bold steps towards our dreams, and trust that God's promises will be fulfilled.

Love Does by Bob Goff

Scripture:

“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again?
It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
~ Matthew 5:13 (NLT)

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
    and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
    for those who love him.”
~ 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NLT)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
~ Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

~ Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be." Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead--since he was about a hundred years old--and that Sarah's womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
~ Romans 4:18-21 (NIV)

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
~ Hebrews 10:23 (NIV)

And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse. She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. For she said, “If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.” And immediately the flow of blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, immediately turned about in the crowd and said, “Who touched my garments?” And his disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, ‘Who touched me?’” And he looked around to see who had done it. But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him and told him the whole truth. And he said to her,
“Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”
~ Mark 5:25–34 (ESV)

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
~ Hebrews 4:12 (ESV)
