Erin Straza is a creative writer, heartfelt speaker and redeemed dreamer. One of her greatest joys is seeing others learn and grow through the lessons she shares on a stage or through the written word. You can find her musings on her blog, Filling My Patch of Sky, and she is also a co-host on the Christ and Pop Culture Podcast called Persuasion. Erin works as a freelance marketing and communications consultant, telling her clients’ stories in authentic and compelling ways. She and her competitive-marathon-runner husband, Mike, live in Illinois.
IF YOU HAVE EVER FELT LIKE YOUR DREAM WAS TOO UNCOMFORTABLE, THIS IS THE EPISODE FOR YOU.
Erin comes back to the show with the same honesty she brought in episode 1. She shares about hitting an emotional wall just a few months before the launch of her first book and what it feels like to put your words out into the world when you can no longer edit them.
She says she was changed by the process of writing and publishing Comfort Detox and digs in to what she learned about her own comfort-seeking behavior. She talks about the fears and doubts that still linger; they just look a little different now than they did when she first came on the show.
I’m thrilled to welcome Erin back and grateful for her insight about what it looks like when you reach your dream and how important it is to allow the joys and challenges of it all to point you back to Jesus.
...when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
~ Ephesians 4:21-24 (NIV)
