188 || Mama, You Have Permission to Pursue Your Dreams || Amanda Bennett

Motherhood can be all-consuming, especially if you’re in that stage of caring for small children. Amanda Bennett of the Gotcha Mama Podcast shares about her difficult transition as a first-time mom and how that experience motivated her dream of supporting new moms who may be struggling alone like she was. Her message is one of grace and freedom in Christ as well as resisting the temptation to make everything perfect before you begin to pursue your dream.

IF IT FEELS LIKE YOUR DREAM WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL YOUR KIDS ARE OLDER

On the Gotcha Mama Podcast, Amanda lovingly shares the challenges and the joys of motherhood and opens doors for mamas to create meaningful connections and tear down insecurities. In this conversation, Amanda shares what she learned in her obedience to God’s calling that she should “speak life” right where she was, while still a new mom.

My biggest takeaways are:

  • You don’t have to have it all figured out to start,

  • Taking messy action is an act of obedience,

  • How Amanda finds ways to “just trust God” while taking uncomfortable steps forward, and

  • An important lesson she learned just by using her own skills and gifts.

MORE ABOUT AMANDA:

Amanda is an Introvert who loves Jesus, people, and personality tests. She and her husband of 14 years live just outside of Nashville, TN with their two small children.

In 2016, after working for over 12 years fundraising for various prominent nonprofit organizations, she decided that season was over for her. And with the birth of her daughter, she chose to be a stay at home mom.

Unexpected challenges in early motherhood led Amanda to create a motherhood podcast where she talks about topics ranging from Postpartum OCD, anxiety, and physical health, to how to find community, and how to pursue your dreams in the middle of motherhood.

She believes in the power of authentically and lovingly sharing the challenges as well as the joys as a mom to open the door to creating meaningful connections and tearing down insecurities.

When she’s not podcasting, you can find her trying to get a workout in with kids hanging on her, making snacks, or drinking black coffee while watching the latest Netflix series.
