Momentum: Episode 29 - Sharon Hodde Miller

Sharon is an author, speaker, pastor’s wife and mom of two boys who lives, with her family, in North Carolina. She has been a regular contributor to Christianity Today, Propel, and She Reads Truth, and she is currently working on her first book, set to release in 2017. In addition to writing, Sharon recently completed her PhD, which explored the stories and experiences of women called to ministry. Sharon speaks a message of hope, truth and courage into our lives. I can’t wait for you to meet her!

Amanda is a Jesus-loving, adventure-seeking humanitarian who has recently relocated from the U.S. to Iraq where she works with an empowerment program for refugee women as part of Preemptive Love Coalition. A southern hippie who hails from Texas, Amanda loves good coffee, local food, extreme sports, creating, dancing, and Willie Nelson. She has lived all over (Texas, Colorado, North Carolina, Kenya, Ethiopia and Zambia) and has worked in every type of job under the sun, including stints in church planting, orphan care, disaster and humanitarian relief, medical outreach and photojournalism/storytelling.

Kate Boyd is a business coach and strategist helping entrepreneurs with a God-sized dream to squash their fear, gain strength from their faith, and align their passions with powerful strategy. Kate provides personalized coaching so you can make the income that empowers you to impact lives every day and create the freedom you crave. Kate shares from her experience leading two online businesses, one she’s had for years and the other—her business coaching—she launched after feeling a call from God to fill the gap of Christian voices in the online business world. 

Momentum: Episode #26 - Mackenzie Blum

Mackenzie is a young professional working as a biological and agricultural engineer in Raleigh, NC.  She has a God-given passion for water and a heart for the global water crisis.  Ever since learning about the crisis in high school, she has felt called to play a role in its resolution.  While working as an intern for Water Mission in Charleston, SC during one summer in college, her passion grew.  Today, she is learning to let go of control and allow God show her how He will use this passion for His glory.

In 2013, Rachel Dodson left her life in New York City as a successful agent at one of the top modelling agencies and moved to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Her mission: to create a social enterprise jewelry company--called Penh Lenh--that would empower marginalized and at-risk young women by providing quality education, skills training, and advanced career opportunities. Rachel believes that through designing bold, colorful, and unique pieces, Penh Lenh is creating a platform for so much more. She sees every day as an opportunity to educate, empower, and impact not only her staff but also the community around her. 100% of the company’s profits are reinvested into the social mission of Penh Lenh.

Momentum: Episode #24 - Jacci Turner

Jacci Turner has a passion for teaching contemplative prayer. She has great empathy for those whose spiritual disciplines have fallen short under the demands of life, and she longs to offer new tools for their toolbox. In her lifetime, she has worn many hats: therapist, school counselor, campus minister, spiritual director, and mom. Her favorite hats are her writer and grandmother hats, which come in wild colors and don’t fit too tightly. Jacci and her husband live in Nevada’s high desert and spend their mornings hiking through the sagebrush with their big yellow dog, Rocky.

Six years ago, Hannah Anderson slowly began to cultivate a career as a writer. It was not something she ever anticipated doing, but with young children at home she found herself wondering how to steward her gifting. She committed to God that she’d give two years to learning the trade and leave the results in His hands. Today she’s the author of two books: Made for More and the newly released Humble Roots: How Humility Grounds and Nourishes Your Soul (Moody).

Sarah Conner is the Vice President of Programs and HR at HIS BridgeBuilders, a poverty alleviation ministry in Dallas, Texas. She oversees programs that serve hundreds of individuals each year on their path towards self-sufficiency and flourishing. Since 2011, Sarah has also been living her passion of unleashing and equipping women by serving at Polished, most recently as the Director of Dallas. Her story is one of overcoming heartache through faith in God and some great community! She’s a big believer in having lots of good girlfriends, laughter, and a great cheese plate. 

Momentum: Episode #21 - Hallie Graves

Hallie Graves is a 30-something, energetic Jesus follower living the single gal life in Austin, Texas. A lawyer, passion-collector, and the director of Polished Austin, Hallie encourages women to live the fullest, freest life that Jesus has called them to live. She has advocated for budding entrepreneurs, Fortune 50 companies, and for children and families in child protection cases. She is obsessed with Broadway shows, La Croix waters, group fitness classes, books, and writing. A member of the Austin Stone Community Church, Hallie would love to have you join her there.

Sarah is a business strategist, brand consultant, and entrepreneur with a passion for helping people use their influence to make the world a better place. Drawing on her background in marketing and the music industry, Sarah decided to launch SDH Strategy in 2016 with the goal of helping female creatives and small business owners combine great ideas with purpose and strategy.

Jessyca Allen is a newlywed and a Midwestern soul living in Colorado. Because she struggles with comparison and negative self-talk, she loves creating beautiful pieces that point herself and others to God's character and His love for His children. Several years ago Jessyca began wondering how God might use her creativity for His glory. Today, her calligraphy and graphic design business, Bezalel & Babel, is the space where pursuing Him and creating her art intersect. 

18 || What Could God Do With My Suffering? || Addie Cunningham & Joy Gordon

In 2009, Addie Cunningham helped create the Indiana Parkinson Foundation following the devastating diagnosis of her dad, Don Waterman, and today she serves as the foundation’s Chair. Addie joined forces with her college roommate, Joy Gordon (a physical therapist), to launch an exercise program that provides hope, community, and movement opportunities for people with Parkinson’s disease across the state of Indiana. From the beginning, they both prayed God would do something big. Already their program has grown to 10 locations statewide.

17 || What Dream Does God Have For Me? || Simone Halpin

Simone Halpin is the co-founder and Director of Naomi’s House, a residential safe home for women who have suffered from commercial sexual exploitation.  She also serves as the Director of Women’s Care at The Moody Church. There, Simone founded the Precious to Him Project, which is an extension of the Women’s Ministry devoted to serving vulnerable and exploited women in Chicago and beyond. With a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Moody Theological Seminary, Simone teaches and trains women what it means to love and follow Jesus.

Jenn Sprinkle is a graphic and web designer, a speaker, published author, and co-founder of The Studio. She loves helping her design clients make their dreams a beautiful reality and figure out how to move their dreams from great to awesome. A conference and retreat junkie, Jenn’s primary focus for the year 2016 has been on the creation of Camp Well, a four-day deep-rooted, faith-filled venture for dreamers, doers and entrepreneurs held recently in Denver, Colorado.

Kat Armstrong is a preacher, a preacher’s wife, and the co-founder and Executive Director of Polished, an outreach ministry sharing the gospel with a generation of young professional women and equipping young professional women to share the gospel. Kat’s passion is to see young women navigate the complexities of work and life, inviting them to learn how the God of the Bible can inform and influence their day-to-day lives.  

Momentum: Episode #14 - K.B. Hoyle

K.B. Hoyle is an award-winning author, public speaker, creative writing instructor, and classical history teacher who uses her knowledge of the ancient and medieval worlds to pen speculative fiction for readers of all ages. She is currently preparing for a major career change in order to pursue her dream of full-time writing. In the midst of the unknown, she shares the peace the Lord has given her about these next steps.

Momentum: Episode #13 - Andrea Conway

Andrea Conway is passionate about living life authentically with others, whether that be in her community, gathering women around a dinner table, or working with Ethiopian children who live in extreme poverty.  Each year, Andrea travels to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with Out of the Ashes.  She has learned that going into situations ready to listen, learn, work, and then listen some more, opens up doors for communities to grow, stereotypes to fall, and love to blossom.

Momentum: Episode #12 - Kim Davis

Kim Davis is a Texas soul living in Colorado with her husband, Chase, and their two boys, Knox and Owen. She curates and runs an online boutique called Oh, Sweet Joy! and loves inspiring others to find the beauty in the everyday, especially in their wardrobe. Kim is an unlikely pastor's wife to Chase, who is on staff at The Well in Boulder. She's been featured in MOPs magazine, as well as many other publications for creatives.  She is currently navigating how to thrive in the tiresome days of motherhood, ministry, and running a business. 

Momentum: Episode #11 - Amy Knuver

Amy Knuver’s passion for people led her to pursue a degree in elementary education and inspired her interest in teaching overseas. Now, a recent college graduate, she is on her way to Togo in West Africa where she will finally have her own classroom, teaching second grade missionary kids. In the midst of this adventure and all of the unknowns ahead, she is striving to love unconditionally, laugh uncontrollably, and live unrestrained.
